Breakfast “at L’Arcipelago” offers a wide choice of top-quality products, giving guests a fragrant “Sicilian experience” fresh from the oven. A perfect blend of flavour, tradition and innovation bring guests a unique buffet, including: selections of bread, pastries, croissants and other leavened products based on starter yeast or liquid yeast cultures).
The selection of sweet options varies from homemade biscuits to cakes and other Sicilian specialities that, as well as being skilfully made from the highest quality ingredients, have the added value of being gluten-free and lactose-free and containing vegetable fats like Sicilian olive oil. There is also a selection of savoury foods baked daily, including a unique product: typical Sicilian arancini (rice balls), offered in 4 versions, which are also gluten and lactose free, while maintaining the authentic flavour of this Sicilian product famous all over the world.
For all the sweet foods in the buffet, the use of natural sweeteners is preferred, like juices extracted from fruit instead of refined sugar, as this gives the food more taste as well as quality and lightness. After careful research into flours, our pastry chef decided to use Sicilian semolina, type 1, wholemeal and spelt flours; all this contributes to obtaining a final product rich in fibre and protein, tasty and easy to digest.
